IOTA REGULATIONS
Classification of the islands
The Group fully adopts the RSGB classification which attributes to the islands or groups of them a precise reference.
The classification of the islands will also take account, where they exist, of the list and relative updating of the national Ham associations.
Call of the islands:
The call is made by:
a- Island that it is on RSGB references: AT prefix + RSGB reference for that island.
b- Island that it is on national Ham associations references: AT prefix + island local reference for that island.
Example: the call of expedition on Rhodes isl. will be 59AT/EU 001 but the call of expedition on Molene island that it's on REF (French Ham references)refernces will be 14 AT MA 080.
Therefore, to sum up, an island may be activated only in these two conditions:
1) The island or the group to which it belongs is IOTA RSGB referenced
OR
2) That the specific island appears in the list published by the national Ham associations.
Whatever the island must be present on the List published on the new AT IOTA Book CD-R otherwise the island it's not activable.
Duration of activation
To be considered valid and accreditable, the activation of an island must have at leaste 6 hours of trasmission during which at least 100 QSO must be made.
The 6 hours may be divided into no more than two periods, even if not consecutive, as a long as they last for at least 3 hours each and are not more than 30 days apart.
The 30 days are calculated from the date of the first QSO to the date of the last QSO.
The only exception allowed to the minimum TX lenght of 6 hours is when a recognised Authority, or the owner of the island, imposes a shorter TX time.
Only in this case will the operations be recognised then only if the trasmission are for longer than 3 hours and foreseen 100 QSO made.
No more than one island can be activated during one day! (24 hours).
Documentary proofs
Within 60 days of the last QSO, on risk of invalidation of the activation, documentary proofs of the activation must be sent to the Supercommittees Team Manager .
